It's kind of ironic, in an Alanis Morrissette kind of way, that the Puget Sound is slowly sliding into a record reaching heat wave just as I finalize my bankruptcy, the likely giving up of my home, and, most importantly, documenting the slow build up of causes that created this situation. All, tellingly, absent legal representation.
Some people say I'm a crazy liberal activist (or a right wing wacko - go figure).
These same folks will also say I'm a physical threat, accusing me of 'irrational' outbursts - a pattern that has been going on since late 1984. This is in spite of my honor's degree from a respected (relatively ideology free) conservative economics program and a very lengthy portfolio of civic capital infrastructure projects and land swaps and the like where I took a key role in figuring out a solution to the balance of interests (though definitely NOT the politics!).
The sad fact is that in this long series of incidences there is not a single instance of evidence, just a single responsible individual choosing at the right time to stand his ground in the face of Nifong style political opportunists and Henry Lois Gates sorts of stupid abusers. And it is the law which has encouraged this - whether it be the rabid dog conservatism of Newt Gingrich or the new era of 'bi-partisan' elitism, it all boils down to pretty much the same thing. Pompous alcoholics accusing anyone who dares to hold them accountable or responsible to their position as the equivalent of a level three sex predator.
The harsh reality is that all these folks have done is set up standards for themselves Such constitutionless based raving lunacy will never have a place in America, save for those that advocate it themselves.
The pictures here are from a fire yesterday, coming home from my downtown Yoga class.
FWIW, I'm still looking for my TFD t-shirt!
A bit of a tangent here, but for some real Morissette irony check this out, it's damn good:
