America, each and everyone of us, the Country as whole, and every one of its companies, IS BANKRUPT. Sure, some folks, the oligarchs, have cash sitting around, first off the republicans controlling TARP bailout funds and the oil companies. But is having cash in an economy that is in reality nothing more than a giant ponzi scheme a sign of merit?
I think not.
George Bush turned us into a socialist country, and to paraphrase Marx, we are now entering the 'Bankruptcy Trusteeship of the Proletariat' phase of world history.
Sure, there are a few folks that have been warning us - and, likely as with myself, portrayed as negative doom saying naysayers.
However the basis of our economy is the salary level of the average working man IN A WORLDWIDE COMPETITIVE MARKET. It is from this foundation that above average wealth is justified, not the other way around.
Reagan era 'supply side' economics has become just an excuse for corruption, and the lowering of the government's price, the tax rate, to allow it. Supply side economics has done nothing but increase the supply of cheats - due the spoiled nature of republican scions.
Recent escalations in the incomes of the upper class have not been based on this economic reality, but rather the most complicated of financial scams of all - the complete corruption of the so-called 'crucial' financial sector. None of these recent gains was earned, they were in fact stolen. And like with any stolen goods, you don't get to keep them because you failed to take due dillegence before your 'purchase'.
We have just signed the death warrant of the US by the 'bi-partisan' act of throwing our last remaining credit line down the rat hole. No doubt the 'accomplished public servants' of the democratic party will get their share. There is no money for a stimulus, the rich oligarchs have already stolen it under the smiling guise of 'economic health' for all.
But for the american who actually works for a living, we are now citizens of a third world country.
Everyone is responsible for allowing this to happen, and we must pay off the deficits of the US with personal assets, wherever the exist and with only one exception, the ownership of a personal residence.
Sure, some folks will have nicer homes than others, that is a fact of life. But we'd best make damn sure the culpable don't keep theirs, even if their culpability does not extend to the criminal level.
Personally, I'd go so far as to give every apartment dweller ownership of their home.
There has been much said in the right wing media about the fact that lower income people aren't 'fit' for ownership.
The sad fact is that right wing ownership has their head in the sand about the economic realities of the US in the world and has used their economic authority to abuse those that work 'for them' - including our government bureaucracies.
And, yes, this includes so called 'progressive' baby boomers like Christine Gregoire, Ron Sims, and Greg Nickels.
It is this generation, the entitled ones, who have done this. And it is this generation that must now pay, in full.
And if you refuse, we should kick you into the hell on earth you have built, the streets of the homeless in the United States. And yes, that includes you too, spoiled white women.
With power comes responsibility. If one believes the material accoutrements of power are entitlements you have done nothing but identify yourself as a spoiled abuser.
